So many exciting things have happened since I last wrote. A new revelation has been received by the Prophet Spencer W. Kimball... "Everyone can now hold the Priesthood - regardless of color." I was so excited when I read it in the paper. We have a wonderful black sister in the ward, who is a saint if there ever was one. She is so good and kind and sets such a good example. It is really something to hear her bare her testimony and talk about being the only black person with all others white (at church) and how her black neighbors called her names. She has really gone through a lot, but is faithful to the Church. She never misses Church or R.S. unless she is sick or something. She is our Visiting Teaching Message Leader on Sundays... her name is Novella Gibson. I called her after I read the news... she was getting calls from everyone. She would laugh a while & cry a while... and I would laugh a while & cry a while with her. She said she had prayed for this to happen in her life time... and now she could be Sealed to her husband. She is in her 80's and has been a member of the Church since she was a little girl. I think it is great to be alive when such exciting things are happening in Church History.
Well, my family now - Danni was invited to a birthday party & was taken to Popeye's for pizza. Donna gave her all the instructions she needed. It was really special to hear Donna tell her that the other kids would probably order Pepsi to drink, but she (Danni) was to say, "No thank you, I'll have 7Up." I could have been completely out of the picture and it couldn't have been done better. "Chuck" and John both played the piano for a music guild... John got an "Excellent +" and "Chuck" got a "Superior" - they also played in a recital and did great! John also played in a talent show at school. He played the piano a little fast... he said his hands were shaking. "Chuck" has gone to Scout Camp for a week and Don is in Chicago - he has been gone two weeks now & I sure do miss him... a month is a long time to be gone. We had company to come up from Kentucky to stay wit us the past week & go to the temple... Keith & Janice Hoffman - it helped us to not be so lonely without Don.
I have been painting & have done all the upstairs. Tomorrow I want to clean windows up there and get it all cleaned. I guess Danni has diarrhea again from eating popcorn... she has changed pants several times since we got back from church. While I was helping her clean herself, I was kind of fussing at her and said, "Danni, What am I going to do with you?" She puckered her little mouth and answered, "Throw me in the trash, I guess!" I felt like a meany! Yesterday was our 17th. anniversary and we called Don and talked to him. He send flowers and they were beautiful!
