A HOUSE IN THE DESERT
We visited Donna in her new house today and it looked as if she is almost settled in. Furniture is in place and most of the boxes have been emptied and the contents stored properly but we were able to find a few things to do. Danni started unpacking books and arranging them on shelves, I folded towels and swept the kitchen & porch, and Papaw managed the dumpster by breaking down all the boxes and compacting things. It appeared that our timing was perfect... Alice and Callie (Walden girls, as we knew them in Charlotte) and their families came as soon as we and the Stakers finished tidying things up. Donna served us all with lunch and then Hyrum, Danni, Buddy, Papaw and I came home. Danni worked on a chair cover and then took off to Provo with the two boys. They are going to John's for dinner and then they are ALL (Stakers, Waldens, Hills, Becks, Beeders and Breedings) going to the STADIUM OF FIRE for a show and fireworks tonight.
My other activities of the day were the ordinary: I got up early, studied, had breakfast (cereal) and then went on neighborhood watch (nothing exciting going on there). Danni and Buddy were awake when we got home. After they bathed and had breakfast we all went to Donna's to deliver some buttermilk syrup and a pancake grill (the grill is for her birthday, I thought she might be able to use it with all her company). It was hot when we got home but I did manage to water my garden before settling down to watch some TV. I am going to bed early tonight. Good night all!
We love all of you!
Love,
Mamaw & Papaw
