Today was our last Sunday in the 3rd. Ward. We still have to go back this week for a road show practice. After Church today I took Daniela down to Outlet Square... she had written an essay on "Life in 2009" and won a blue ribbon... she was one of four children from her school to win a ribbon. Papers from all the blue ribbon winners are to be placed in a time capsule... which is to be dug up in 25 years. She wrote about pollution and its effect on her life (it was a fictional story & was good). Don is trying to see if she left a copy of her story on the computer so that we can put it in her scrap book.
(Don's insert... dated Feb. 21, 1985):
Don got promoted to "54 Level" today at work (entry level for most MBA employees) with a title of "Senior Associate Systems Analyst". He has been assisting IBM Card Manufacturing Management in their Expense Budget Planning and Tracking for the last three years. Previously he was an IBM Customer Engineer in their Field Engineering Division (moving from Lexington, Ky... to Endicott, N.Y... to Washington D.C... and then to Charlotte, N.C.).
Don's note about this - "my immediate manager, Carl Sadler, told me a day or so after my transfer that he didn't see any way he could bring me in at the level required for this new assignment because my personnel record did not show me having an Engineering Degree (I assume he meant COLLEGE DEGREE). I said, that's too bad, I don't have an Engineering Degree!... and then, the next day, Don took his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees in to work and gave them to Carl... no more need be said! This, Personnel Record lacking an update, explains some of the delay in being able to get a reassignment from my Customer Engineering job....
