CHESS ANYONE???
Papaw and Phil Jordan went to visit Howard Bennett this afternoon. Howard broke out a chess board and coached Papaw through a game. Kind of like as if Howard was playing a game of solitaire. On our way home Sharon Farr invited us in to see Alan. Alan went to the hospital for a check up and ended up being operated on. Sharon said he had 99 percent blockage in one of his blood vessels.
Mamaw says: Today started out just being a normal every day boring day and then Brother Pitchford called for Papaw to come help give Sister Pitchford a blessing. I did the ironing, made pumpkin bread, made lunch, took a nap, went to the dollar store for some bags and bought a couple of kites for a ward party sometime this month. I was watching the news and heard someone yelling outside. I looked out the window and saw a young man walking down the street with a truck following him. After he passed our house I went outside and saw blood spots trailing on our driveway and the sidewalk. I called the police, they came and started following the blood trail north on 4000 West. Papaw thinks they had the fellow down by the condominiums. Papaw had met with Sister Bowen on the way from his visits and she was telling him about the young man yelling and throwing rocks at a fence as he and folks in a truck passed her house. She suspected that he was on drugs. So, don't ever use drugs... they just make people do crazy things.

After all that excitement Papaw and I took some bread and jam to new families that have moved into the ward. I am going to watch TV and go to bed. We love all of you!!!
Love,
Mamaw & Papaw
