21st. ANNIVERSARY
Papaw touched up some flaking paint at the front porch and then painted the fence before Donna and Mike came over (it is their 21st. anniversary and they are loaning us three of the kids). Hyrum wanted to sleep on the mattress and we caught him just before lights out.
Mamaw said: I told you we have lots of excitement around here... one of those car alarms went off across the street in front of Pat's last night, Papaw jumped out of bed and ran out the door while putting his clothes on and was yelling, "Car! Car!" I thought he was saying, "Fire! Fire!" and I started running right behind him yelling, "Where's the fire? Where's the fire?" Papaw stopped and said, "No! Someone is trying to steal the van!"
This morning I tried to convince the Bald Headed Geek that no one would really want his van and that he needed to call the police if he thought it was being stolen. Needless to say, I didn't get back to sleep very soon and, consequently, didn't get up very early today. When I did wake up I studied my SS lesson a little, cleaned house, worked in the yard a little while and had our missionary meeting with the Pitchfords (the sister missionaries gave us a late call to let us know they would not be here). The three little Stakers are spending the night... see... maybe we can't hear, or see, or move very fast, but we do have fun. We love all of you!!!
Love,
Mamaw & Papaw
