PREPARING FOR FROST

Papaw picked some grapes and gathered pears this morning while Mamaw gathered a couple of buckets full of green tomatoes to take over to Donna's.  We wanted to see how bad the concrete work turned out and then get back home in time to do some work before tonight's frost that the news has in our forecast.  Mamaw dug up all of her flowers to take down in the cellar, Papaw took some tables down there and wired the place up with another shop light (and got himself a new lamp in the process).  The center contraption, with photo taken inside the barn, is his table saw that he bought this week:

Mamaw says:  I got up early, read, looked at Buddy's blog, went out and picked all the green peppers (it is supposed to frost tonight, so I got all the peppers picked and pulled up the plants), came in and cooked breakfast, woke Papaw up, ate, washed dishes, made my bed, went back out and picked all the tomatoes (green and ripe ones), pulled up all the vines except two, took a load (tomatoes, peppers, pears & grapes) to Donna's, stopped at DI to get some flower pots, got home, had lunch, went back out and dug up the geraniums and put them in pots, covered the remaining tomato plants, cooked dinner, washed dishes and now I am going to bed after watching a little TV.  We love all of you!!!

                    Love,
         Mamaw & Papaw
